BlockClaim
A free dots-and-boxes game for your phone or browser. Draw a line between two dots. Close a square and it is yours — and you go again. Claim more than your rival and you win.
Play BlockClaimWhat it is
BlockClaim is the pen-and-paper game most people played on the back of an exercise book, made for a touchscreen. A grid of dots; two players taking turns drawing one line at a time; the fourth side of a square claims it. Games take a couple of minutes. There is nothing to install — it runs in the browser, and can be added to a home screen.
How you can play
- Against the computer, at three difficulties. The hardest one hunts chains and plays the endgame properly.
- Against somebody next to you, passing one phone back and forth.
- Online, matched with whoever else is looking for a game.
- With a friend, by sharing a six-character friend code and inviting them directly.
- On a board you drew yourself. Cut holes in it, make it long and thin, and send it to a friend to play.
Prisms and cosmetics
Winning earns Prisms, which unlock inks, board styles, dot shapes and effects. They are earned by playing. They cannot be bought, and there is no advertising anywhere in the game.
Signing in
Playing needs no account at all. Signing in with Google is optional, and exists for one reason: so your progress survives changing phone or clearing your browser. If you do sign in, the only thing stored is the opaque user id Google gives us — not your email address, not your name, not your picture. Signing out unlinks it immediately.
What is kept, and how to have it deleted, is set out in the privacy policy.
Who makes it
